No one comes to the Adirondacks just to bank, invest or get insurance, it's the sticks here! The Big Apple, with all the worms, is the place for that. But if you plan on buying land or staying a season you might want insurance on your camp, snowmobile or boat. Also, having a local checking account is a big plus when dealing with the local merchants. Don't despair, there are a few agencies and banks in the villages up here to accomodate your needs.
